| dc.description.abstract | Clearly noted is the fact that Christianity currently suppresses the Igbo belief in re-incarnation. This gives us this study’s objective, which is to investigate Psychological realities in Igbo Theological belief in Re-incarnation. The method of study was qualitative and experiential, since relevant texts were consulted and corroborated by experiential field work of administering questionnaires, these which gave us research finding that Igbo believe in re-incarnation is not mere psychology or constructed in the human mind, but that re-incarnation among the Igbo of South East Nigeria is a physical reality backed up with historical and Names, Linguistic proofs. The study recommends further studies on this topics; particularly suggesting more oral interviews of very elderly people in the interior of our village; since such experienced elderly citizens can make greater eye witness contributions to this topic called “Re-incarnation”. This elderly and interior experienced persons can identify birth marks, family resemblances and statement from the supposed re-incarnated ones. These suggestions for further studies clearly points to the fact that data collected by the researcher indicates that re-incarnation among the Igbos is not mere psychological and religious belief but a physical reality. | |
